Dr. David T. Parrella

David T. Parrella, MD, is an Interventional Neurologist with Ascension Medical Group Saint Thomas Howell Allen Clinic in Nashville, Tennessee.

As an Interventional Neurologist who practices Neurointerventional Surgery, Dr. Parrella specializes in the minimally invasive treatment of cerebral aneurysms, brain arteriovenous malformations, dural fistulae, carotid disease, and acute stroke.

As the director of Neurointerventional Surgery at Ascension St. Thomas, Dr. Parrella is interested in developing stroke systems of care and the hyperacute treatment of large vessel occlusive disease.

Dr. Parrella is a senior member of the Society of Neurointerventional Surgery (SNIS). He completed his residency in Neurology at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Parrella completed a fellowship in Vascular Neurology at the New Jersey Neuroscience Institute; this was followed by a fellowship in Endovascular Neurosurgery at the University of Toronto, where he trained under Dr. Tom Marotta and Dr. Julian Spears.

Before Joining Howell Allen, Dr. Parrella was on the faculty at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine, where he was actively involved in medical education and neurointerventional clinical trials. Dr. Parrella is board certified in Neurology and CAST Certified in Neuroendovascular Surgery

Dr. Parrella enjoys archery, woodworking, skiing, and is a strong supporter of Public Lands. Dr. Parrella moved to Nashville from New York with his wife and two young children.
